At the Düsseldorf boat show in Germany, the Sun Odyssey 409 and the NC11 were honoured with the prestigious titles of “European Yacht of the Year 2011” and “European Powerboat of the Year 2011.”
Selected by a jury from the biggest European magazines in the marine industry, this trophy is a handsome reward for these two brand new Jeanneau models. The “European Yacht of the Year” award is an initiative of the European magazine, Yacht (Germany), which forms an international jury in co-operation with other leading magazines, including: Yachting World, Fare Vela, Waterkampion, Batnytt, Yacht Revue, Seilas, Yate, Voile Magazine, Yacht, Badnyt and Marina.ch.
The Sun Odyssey 409 was awarded the title of “European Yacht of the Year” in the category of “Family Cruiser.” Other nominees in this category included: the Bavaria Cruiser 45, the Bénéteau Océanis 58, the Comet 26 and the Hanse 445.
The “European Powerboat of the Year” award is an initiative of the European powerboat magazine, Boote (Germany), which composes an international jury in cooperation with other leading magazines, including: Yacht Revue (Austria), Marina.ch (Switzerland), Neptune (France), Barche a Motore (Italy) and Batliv (Norway).
The Jeanneau NC 11 was awarded the title of “European Powerboat of the Year” in the “40 Feet and Under” class. Other nominees in this category included: the Bavaria 34 Sport, the Flemming Corvette 340, the Galeon 385 HAT, and the North-Line 37 Wheelhouse.
