The Albin Ballad is a fast cruiser\racer “Triola” is Ballad number 51, built in Sweden to exceptionally high and strong standards (“Over engineered” by today’s standards) by the passionate and skilled boat builders of Albin Marin. The owner has a great website where you can see the history of the boat. A 2014 survey report available on request. The yacht has just been antifouled and engine serviced (November 2019).

Accommodation

The Albin Ballad offers 5 berths in two cabins, the fore cabin with vee berth, the main saloon with two single berths can be converted very quickly to make a huge double berth. Two children’s ISOFix positions for car seats to be fixed to the boat for when at sea. Galley is equipped with a Dometic Starlight oven and grill with two burners, single stainless sink manually pumped cold water supply, surrounded by Corian worktops inset with fridge compartment. Propex diesel heating system, with upholstery finished in grey fabric, curtains throughout.

“Triola” is masthead Bermudan sloop with keel stepped Selden aluminium anodised mast and boom, spinnaker pole, stainless steel standing rigging with manual backstay adjuster, Terylene running rigging. Furling headsail Plastimo Furlex 910.

Mechanical Systems

The Albin Ballad is powered by a single Yanmar 2GM20 two-cylinder 20hp direct cooling, shaft drive to a two bladed Flexofold folding propeller with rope cutter. Single lever Morse control. 40-litre stainless steel fuel tank. Last out of water maintenance in November 2019 when engine has also been serviced.

History and Construction

The Albin Ballad designed by Rolf Magnusson and built by Albin Marin of GRP construction, blue hull with white and grey superstructure, grey painted non slip decks, epoxied 2011. Owned by the current owner for the last 11 years selling as he needs a larger yacht due to a growing family, only four previous owners.Triola was originally registered in Cowes on the 17th of November 1972 to John Francais Leefer Ludgate, a Sales Manager from Hampshire, only the 50th Albin Ballad to be built of the eventual 1,500 to be produced. Last out of the water Novmeber 2019
