The company normally acts as broker for the vendor who unless otherwise stated is not selling in the course of a business. Whilst every care has been taken in the preparation of these particulars the correctness is not guaranteed and they are intended as a guide only and do not constitute a part of any contract. A prospective buyer is strongly advised to check these particulars and where appropriate and at his own expense to employ a qualified marine surveyor to carry out a survey and/or to have an engine trial conducted which if conducted by us shall not imply any liability on our part.
The layout is as spacious as many 40-foot boats and sleeps 4 comfortably. There is full standing (6.1ft) headroom and good ventilation throughout via large overhead hatches, bronze opening portholes, dorade vents with stainless cowls, and a wide companionway – all screened.
Forward is the enclosed anchor locker. Aft of this locker is the head with an electric macerator toilet. The separate shower stall and single stainless-steel sink vanity with marble countertop both have pressurised hot and cold water.
Aft of this is a Queen-sized Pullman berth lies to port with reading lights, bookshelves, oil lamp, drawers and locker storage beneath. The 2 bins beneath the berth are large enough to stow spare sails and much, much, more. Separate hanging lockers and more drawer storage lies to starboard.
Next to port is an L shaped settee with fixed dinette, and another long settee to starboard that can quickly convert into a bunk bed. Everything has stowage behind and beneath, and shelves run along the hull.
Located to port at the foot of the companionway is the galley, equipped with a 3-burner gimbled stove and oven, a double stainless-steel sink, also with pressurised hot and cold water, and refrigerator with large freezer box. Massive amounts of practical storage continues via numerous drawers, lockers, and cabinets.
The Navigation Station is to starboard with storage below the chart table. The bulk of the electrical systems equipment are concealed in a sizable equipment locker located aft of the bulkhead where the electrical panel is mounted. The engine is located under the companionway steps.
A Yanmar 3JH5E 39hp engine, with dual Racor fuel filters, was installed new in 2016, and only has 356 hrs. It has been regularly serviced, the last of which was at the end of 2021. Shaft transmission drives a 3 bladed fixed bronze prop. In 2020, a dripless PSS shaft seal and a new cutlass bearing was installed.

Built in Taiwan by Hans Christian Yachts Re Metau is solid fiberglass with fully encapsulated iron keel with keel hung rudder. The decks are teak. The hull was last anti-fouled in July 2020
Aside from her eye-catching appeal, sea-kindly motion, and traditional beauty, the things we love most about Re Metau were not readily apparent; insightful details such as a dedicated trash bin and brass curtain rod holders; her deep gunwales and cockpit coaming always kept us dry; her wide companionway with full screens and swing doors made others envious when the insects were buzzing; and her cavernous storage rivaled their larger, more costly yachts to name just a few. For the past 15 years, she has been our comfortable, cozy home as well as a safe, blue water vessel. These last 7 years were lived self-sufficiently offshore, so you can be sure she’s outfitted to take you anywhere you wish to roam.
Re Metau has a USA Registration and there are no known outstanding mortgages or encumbrances
