Accommodation

The Moody 346 offers up to six berths in three cabins with two double berths in separate sleeping cabins and good headroom throughout.

FORE CABIN: A generous V berth with infill to create a double berth and opening hatch to foredeck. Good storage space in overhead lockers, hanging locker and beneath berth stowage.   

SALOON: Consisting of a U-shaped settee to starboard, table with folding leaves and settee berth opposite with useful stowage in various lockers and shelving areas. 

GALLEY: Aft to starboard and equipped with a Plastimo Neptune 2000 2-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, twin stainless steel sinks, fridge, and ample storage. Passageway leading to the aft cabin with hanging lockers, engine access, and further storage areas.

AFT CABIN: A large cabin offering an offset double berth with seating area, vanity unit with washbasin, hanging locker, further storage, and an opening hatch to the aft deck.

CHART TABLE: Aft facing chart table to port with navigation equipment, electrical distribution panel, and 12v socket.

HEADS: Separate compartment aft to port fitted with a Jabsco marine toilet (with 60L holding tank and Tankwatch indicator), washbasin, shower, and storage. 

Teak interior woodwork with teak and holly soleboards, light grey/blue upholstery, and complimenting curtains. Pressurised hot and cold water supply via a calorifier with immersion coil. 

Mechanical Systems

Located under cockpit sole and with excellent access from the aft passageway, Thornycroft T80 35hp 4-cylinder marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Steel 159L fuel tank. Shaft drive with rope cutter to 2-bladed fixed propeller.

The engine has been well maintained by her knowledgeable owner and appears to be in very good condition. It was last serviced in Spring 2020 and has been very lightly used since, and a new stern gland was fitted in 2019.

Electrical Systems

3 x 12v Batteries (2 x 110ah domestic and 75ah engine, all new 2019) charged via engine alternator. Shore power system with ring mains, battery charger, and immersion coil for water heating. Adverc battery management system. Distribution panel with battery condition indicator. Battery isolator switch. 12v Socket. Full cabin lighting throughout.

Masthead Bermudan sloop rig. Kemp silver anodised aluminum mast and boom (new boom 2003). Rod kicker. Spinnaker pole. Stainless steel standing rigging (new 2006). Backstay adjuster. Construction

Moody 346 built by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd in 1987 to a Bill Dixon design. White GRP hull (epoxy coated in 2017) with style stripes, superstructure, and light grey decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Cast iron fin keel. Wheel steering to partial skeg hung rudder. Self-draining centre cockpit.
