The Dufour 36 Classic is a popular modern cruising yacht offering a great combination of comfortable accommodation and confidence inspiring manners under sail.
Shalingar's Luck is the standard draft keel, twin aft cabin version, offering excellent sailing performance combined with ample accommodation for families. She has been used for RYA training, always with a skipper on board, and could easily be re-equipped with some additional safety gear to Category 2 for this purpose. Her equipment list is extensive and includes an electric anchor windlass, heating, hot water, full cockpit enclosure and more. Presented in good condition, Shalingars Luck could be used for family cruising and/or be kept MCA coded as a training vessel.

The accommodation offers up to six berths, with three double cabins plus an occasional single berth in the saloon.
FORECABIN - Considered to be the owner's cabin and featuring an offset double berth to port and stowage beneath, seat to starboard and ample storage in two hanging lockers, shelves and a cupboard. Large opening hatch to foredeck with blind.
SALOON - An L-shaped settee fitted to starboard (can be used as a small occasional berth) with a separate bench seat offers comfortable seating for 6 around a table with bottle storage.
GALLEY - Linear galley to starboard equipped with an Eno gimballed 2-burner gas stove with oven and grill, twin stainless steel sinks, large top opening 12v fridge, ample work surfaces and good storage in various lockers and drawers.
CHART TABLE - Generous chart table to port with storage, navigators seat (upholstered in vinyl), electrical distribution panel and navigation equipment.
HEADS - Aft to starboard and fitted with Brydon marine toilet, shower, washbasin, storage and opening portlight.
TWIN AFT CABINS - Each fitted with a double berth, hanging locker, lighting and opening portlights.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT - The mahogany interior with teak and holly effect laminate sole boards and blue patterned upholstery and matching curtains in saloon. Pressurised hot and cold water supply via a calorifier with immersion coil. Eberspacher diesel fired cabin heating with outlets in each cabin.
Located below the companionway and with excellent all-round access. Volvo Penta MD2030, 3-cylinder, 29hp diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Saildrive to two blade fixed propeller.
The engine appears to be in very good cosmetic condition, was last serviced in April 2021.
2 x 12v batteries charged via engine alternator. Shore power system with ring main, immersion coil and battery charger. Electrical distribution panel. Full interior lighting, much of which is LED.
Masthead rigged sloop. Anodised aluminium double spreader mast and boom by Z-Spars. Spinnaker pole with adjustable slider on mast. Stainless steel discontinuous standing rigging. Mast and standing rigging replaced approximately 2016. Removable inner forestay. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with stackpack and lazyjacks. Harken MkIV headsail furling system.
