Purposeful, fast and comfortable, the Beneteau Oceanis 423 has proved to be an extremely popular cruising yacht, whether for week-ending or long term live-aboard. She is easily handled by a small crew and has excellent performance both under power and sail with the taller performance rig and fully battened mainsail and comes well equipped. The Beneteau Oceanis 423 offers 5 berths in two double cabins plus the saloon. Forward owner’s cabin with large island berth with 'Memory Foam' Mattress, plenty of stowage with hanging locker and drawers under berth and En-suite heads. En-suite Heads with Jabsco manual sea toilet, sink, shower and shower drain. Saloon with C-shaped seating to starboard and midships bench seat around extending dining table and settee berth to port. C-shaped galley aft to starboard with twin stainless-steel sinks, 2-burner gimballed gas cooker with oven, large top opening cool box with 12v fridge with ice box below and good storage. 

The Aft Heads is to port with Jabsco manual sea toilet, holding tank, sink and shower. Chart table to starboard with navigators’ seat, stowage, 12v  and 240v distribution panel and instrumentation. Aft cabin to port with large double berth and stowage including shelving and hanging locker – access from the cabin to aft heads.

The yacht has cream leatherette upholstery throughout with cream matching curtains. Scatter cushions. Hot and cold pressurised water to both heads, galley and cockpit shower. Webasto diesel fired cabin heating. Coachroof fixed windows over saloon with sliding shades, five deck hatches giving plenty of ventilation and eight opening ports.

Performance rig (0.8m taller than standard). Deck stepped masthead sloop. Z spar silver anodised alloy, twin spreader mast and slab reefing with lazyjacks and stackpack. Facnor twin groove furling headsail system. Spring loaded rod kicker. 1 x 19 stainless steel wire standing rigging and low stretch running rigging. All controls led aft to cockpit through deck organisers to Spinlock clutches. Asymmetric running gear.

History and Construction

Beneteau Oceanis 423 built in 2005 by Beneteau to a Groupe Finot design. White GRP hull with white GRP deck, superstructure and self-draining aft cockpit. Moulded in non-slip deck surfaces with teak laid cockpit seats and sole. Raised gunwale with teak capping. Opening stern seat leads to bathing platform with stainless steel swimming ladder. Cast iron fin keel. Semi balanced spade rudder. Wheel steering mounted on a pedestal. Varnished Alpi Fruitier internal joinery.
