Our services are temporarily changed due to Covid-19

Lockdown has returned, but we are working hard to help you plan your boating future!

  • Buying? Although viewing in person isn’t possible we can send video tours, liaise with surveyors and engineers, and even manage any works after the sale has completed, so you will be ready to enjoy the coming season

  • Selling? Our brokerage is busy with buyers and we are taking on new listings wherever access is possible, we can also arrange to move your boat to one of our sales areas to avoid future berthing fees, and give you the best chance of selling during the pre-season rush

By order of the UK Government all non-essential retail businesses are now required to be closed by law. This means that we can no longer allow people to view boats that we have for sale, so our offices are closed to visitors until further notice. However, members of our team are still working to list new boats on brokerage, conduct video tours, progress sales, liaise with surveyors, and provide general help and advice. In many cases we are also able to arrange to move your boat to one of our sales areas, avoiding future berthing fees, whilst also giving you the best chance of selling during the busy pre-season marketplace.

So if you are looking to buy or sell a boat please get in touch and find out how we can help, safely and responsibly, during lockdown. If you have a boat for sale with us currently and would like anything checked, or works arranged, please ask and we will do this for you, so you don’t need to travel. If you are looking for a boat to buy, please do not visit our offices to look around the boats for sale ashore, you won’t be able to get inside, so stay warm and dry, and let us send you a video tour and high-res images instead!

Where necessary, we can also arrange extended sale and purchase agreements, so buyers can reserve a boat (if the vendor agrees) on the basis they will move forward with their purchase at the earliest opportunity. Most sales are proceeding based on surveys and mechanical inspections alone, which is common at this time of the year, but sea trials can also be arranged via engineering firms that are able to offer this service.

Finally, the team at Clarke and Carter would like to wish you all good health and thank you for your continued support both now and across the years.
