Accommodation

The Kelt 9m layout offers up to six berths in two cabins plus the saloon, with approx. 6'2" max. headroom.

FORECABIN  -  Fitted with a V-berth with infill to create a double, hanging locker, shelves, storage pockets, and an opening hatch to the foredeck.

SALOON  -  Consisting of settee berths on either side of a central table, with beneath berth stowage and shelves. Bi-fold doors to forecabin. Opening hatch into the saloon.

GALLEY  -  L-shaped galley aft to port equipped with a Bainbridge Pacific 5000 two-burner gas cooker with oven, refrigerated coolbox, sink with electric pumped cold water supply and storage. Stainless steel water tank.

CHART TABLE  -  Large forward-facing chart table to starboard with navigation equipment, electrical distribution panel, and storage.VSR distrubtion Cluster of four. Opening port light above.

HEADS  -  Separate heads compartment aft to starboard with RM69 marine toilet, washbasin with manually pumped cold water supply, wet hanging locker, and cupboard. Opening port light.

AFT CABIN  -  The aft cabin has a cosy double berth with an integrated reading lounger, hanging locker, storage shelf, and an opening portlight. Gas isolator is located in this cabin.

 

Mechanical Systems

Located beneath companionway steps, Yanmar 2GM15, 15hp, two-cylinder diesel engine. Engine installed in 2009. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Volvo shaft seal, serviced each season. Shaft drive with rope cutter to three-bladed feathering propeller. Engine self-serviced annually.

Construction

Kelt 9M built by Kelt Marine, France in 1983 to a design by Philippe Briand. White GRP hull, superstructure, and cream decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Underwater hull treated with Coppercoat. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to spade hung rudder. Self-draining cockpit.
