This charming little gaff rigged, canoe stern classic was built in 1902 and has been lovingly maintained. Kelpie II is perfect for day sailing with the ability for overnight stays. She truly is a stunning design and will turn heads where ever she goes. She has been in her current ownership for 27 years and has featured in many sailing articles including a 1970 Yachting Monthly.

Accommodation
Her simple interior offers two 6ft6 berths to port and starboard with stowage under. There is a Origo two-burner spirit cooker in the starboard quarter with hand cupboards opposite to port. Sitting headroom through.
Mechanical Systems
Located on a removable outboard bracket, placed on the side deck is the 2.5hp, 4 stroke Suzuki outboard which was new in 2020. Approximately 30 hours run. 3 blade propeller. Hand start. 40ah domestic battery.
Sails and Spars
Fractionally rigged gaff sloop. Keel stepped and varnished mast, boom & gaff made of solid Douglas Fir. Fixed bowsprit. Slab reefing mainsail system. Sailspar continuous line headsail furling system. Stainless steel standing rigging (2020). Terylene running rigging. Lines led aft. Two sheet winches.
Construction
Built by joiner Herbert Kennard along with his brother Albert, to a design of J Pain Clark in 1902. Carvel hull made out of Red Pine, Oak & Pitch Pine. Painted blue topsides. The deck is Kauri planking on Columbian pine beams, clad in epoxy sheathed 9 mm ply, painted with a cream non-slip finish. Kauri Pine deck beams. Teak coachroof with fixed portlights. Tiller steering to a spade hung rudder. Steel keel with a lead bulb.
