Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to seven berths, with two double sleeping cabins separate from the saloon. Eberspacher diesel-fired hot air central heating. Hot and cold pressurised water supply to sinks, basins and showers. Approx. 370 litre freshwater capacity in two tanks (one new 2013). Teak and Holly effect floorboards 2020. New Lewmar deck hatches fitted 2020. Blinds and curtains to all hatches and windows. LED lighting throughout.

Forecabin: Large double V berth with in-fill with stowage under and opening hatch to deck above. New mattress 2021. En-suite heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet, shower and moulded washbasin. Central holding tank for both heads.

Saloon: Dinette to port with settee berth opposite. Large drop leaf saloon table. Two opening deck hatches. Avtex W163D 12v TV to starboard. Good sized chart table aft to port with chart stowage and extensive instrument displays. Re-upholstered in 2018 with spare material swatch.

Galley: Located to starboard in walkthrough to aft cabin. Twin stainless steel sinks. Oceanchef four burner gimballed gas cooker with grill and oven. Refrigerator with ice box.

Single berth cabin to port which is also the walk-through to the aft cabin with stowage under and access to the engine space.

Aft cabin: The owner's cabin boasts a large island double berth with an occasional seat to starboard. Hanging lockers. Avtex 12v TV on bulkhead with Avtex soundbar.

Aft Heads: to starboard with access from the saloon and aft cabin. This has a separate shower cubicle with screen, moulded wash basin and Jabsco marine toilet with wooden seat. Discharge to central holding tank. Access to engine space.

Forward Heads: To port ahead of the saloon. Jabsco marine toilet and shower.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the companionway stairs aft of the fuel tank with excellent access from both sides via opening doors and a panel from the aft cabin. Yanmar 4JH3BE, 50hp, four cylinder marine diesel engine. Balmar 200 amp alternator. Freshwater cooled via a heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive via flexible coupling and P-bracket to a feathering three bladed Maxprop propeller. New shaft, cutless bearing and stern gland in 2020. 274 litre fuel capacity. Regular servicing by owner, most recently in January 2024. Various engine spares.

Sleipner 4hp bow thruster.

Vetus 4 kVA generator with exhaust water separator and hand start option. Approx. 37 hours run.

Construction

The Moody 42CC was built by Moody Yachts in 2001 to a design by Bill Dixon. A hand laid blue GRP construction with topsides that are balsa cored above the waterline. GRP bonded frames and stringers. Blue hull with white waterlines and gold cavita line. White GRP deck and coach roof with light grey moulded-in non-slip decks. Teak cap rail. Cast iron fin keel. Keel bolts changed in 2013. Wheel steering to a half-skeg, semi- balanced rudder. Self-draining centre cockpit. Rigid windscreen. Teak internal joinery throughout. Stainless steel bow protector.
