Accommodation

The accommodation offers five berths (all with lee cloths) in two cabins with approx. 6' headroom.

FORECABIN:   Fitted with a V berth with infill to form a double, beneath berth stowage, lockers, and an opening hatch to the foredeck.

HEADS:   Separate compartment to port with a Jabsco marine toilet and sliding washbasin, and a large hanging locker opposite.

SALOON:   Laid out with a dinette seating area to port with a table which drops to form a double berth, settee berth opposite to starboard, and good storage in a range of cupboards, shelves, and lockers.

GALLEY:   Aft to port and equipped with a Plastimo Neptune 2000 gimballed two-burner gas cooker with grill, sink with manually pumped cold water supply, and storage.

CHART TABLE:   Large chart table to starboard fitted with a range of navigation instruments, electrical switch panel, and offering further easily accessed storage areas.

Sails & Spars

Masthead bermudan rigged sloop. Anodised aluminium deck stepped mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging (new 2021). Furlex headsail furling system. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail. 2 x 40 two-speed sheet winches. 2 x mast-mounted halyard winches. Boom-mounted reefing winch. All winches have been recently serviced.

Mechanical Systems

Located abaft the companionway, Volvo Penta MD2030 three-cylinder 29hp diesel engine (new 2002). Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive (new shaft and Deepsea sterngland 2023) to three-bladed bronze propeller.

The engine was installed new in 2002 and appears to be in good cosmetic condition. In 2023 a service was carried out and a new starter motor fitted, a new impeller was fitted in 2022 and the engine has had very light use since.

Electrical Systems

4 x 12v Batteries (3 x 110ah domestic and dedicated 90ah engine, all new 2021) charged via engine alternator. Shorepower system with ring mains and battery charger. Electrical distribution panel.

Construction

Vindo 40 built in 1978 by Notesund Varv AB, Sweden to a Carl Andersson design. White GRP moulded hull with teak laid GRP deck structure. Timber coachroof constructed of varnished solid mahogany boards with laminated veneers at the forward section and a teak-laid coachroof. Cockpit framework of GRP and timber construction (rebuilt 2011 with new surround and teak seating) with solid mahogany coamings. Long keel with encapsulated lead ballast. Wheel steering to keel hung GRP rudder. Aft self-draining cockpit.

Whilst her brightwork and decks will benefit from further attention in the future, Baltic Lady has clearly been well cared for and appears to be in good sound condition.
