The Twister 28 is a classically deigned cruising sailboat, known for its solid construction and excellent seaworthiness. Originally designed by Kim Holman, the Twister 28 gained popularity in the 1960s and 70s as a capable offshore cruiser. Mardi Gras has been in the same ownership 45 and been sailed all over the UK, Ireland and from Northern Spain to the Baltic.

Accommodation
The simple accommodation offers four berths in two cabins. In the forecabin, V berth with stowage under. Opening hatch to foredeck. Full width heads compartment with marine toilet and washbasin. In the saloon, there are two settee berths with stowage under. Chart table to port with galley opposite. Two burner gimballed gas hob with grill. Stainless steel sink with a manually pumped water supply.
Mechanical Systems
Located under the companionway steps is the Beta Marine, 20hp, 3 cylinders. Fresh water cooled via a heat exchanger. Shaft drive to a fixed 3 bladed bronze propeller. Single lever control. Electric start. 30 litre fuel tank capacity.

Built in 1974 by Tyler Boat Co to a design by Kim Holman and fitted out by W.Randall, Emsworth. White GRP hull with cove line. Iroko toe rails. White GRP superstructure with painted non-slip to deck. Long keel with encapsulated iron ballast. Keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self-draining cockpit.
