The Contessa 28 offers an excellent blend of confidence inspiring sailing performance and useful accommodation, offering up to five berths. Less well known than earlier Contessa yachts, the 28 was more modern with an improved interior and moulded headlining, often considered an earlier rival to the Sadler 29. 'Midnight Lady' is a good example of her class fitted with a 2006 Nanni 21hp diesel engine and a recent chart plotter and windlass. She is competitively priced as a recent survey identified that the decks will require attention in the future.

Construction
Contessa 28 built by Jeremy Rogers in 1978 to a Doug Peterson design. White GRP hull (epoxy coated in 2003) with style stripes, coachroof and grey moulded non-slip decks. Encapsulated lead ballast in fin keel. Tiller steering to semi-balanced rudder. Self-draining cockpit. Simulated teak finish to cockpit seats. In 2015 the rudder was removed, faired and epoxy coated before being refitted and the aluminium windows were also replaced. A recent survey has identified that moisture has entered areas of the deck, and whilst it is still possible to use without repair, it would be advisable to rectify this in the future. In July 2022, all seacocks were replaced.Disclaimer
