Banjo is a 1978 Seamaster Sailer 815, a compact family cruising yacht offering five berths in two cabins. She has been in her present ownership for four years and has principally been based at Waldringfield and cruised on the River Deben. She is fitted with a Yanmar 1GM10 diesel engine dating from 2006, which was fully serviced in 2025. Her inventory includes furling genoa, spinnaker, sprayhood, Garmin GPS and Autohelm ST2000 tiller pilot. She was antifouled in 2026 and is currently lying afloat at Suffolk Yacht Harbour.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to five berths with generous headroom throughout. Forward is a V-berth with infill, opening deck hatch and shelves. Immediately aft to port is the heads compartment, with Albin manual marine toilet. Opposite to starboard is good hanging storage. Moving aft into the saloon there is U-shaped seating around a removable saloon table. This converts to a double berth. Opposite to port is a generous linear galley, equipped with a two-burner gas hob and grill and a large stainless-steel sink. Pressurised cold water supply. After of the galley on the starboard side is a quarterberth.

Mechanical Systems

Located beneath the companionway, Yanmar 1GM10 single-cylinder 10hp diesel engine, installed in 2006. Direct raw water cooling. Shaft drive to three-bladed fixed propeller. Single 25 litre plastic fuel tank. Tiller steering. The engine was fully serviced in 2025.

Sails and Spars

Masthead Bermudan sloop rig. Deck-stepped alloy mast and alloy boom. Stainless steel standing rigging. Running rigging renewed in 2025. Furling headsail system. 2x Barlow 23 sheet winches, 1x halyard winch. Lazyjacks and spinnaker pole.

Construction

Seamaster 815 built in 1978. White GRP hull with fin keel and iron ballast. Transom-hung rudder and painted non-slip deck finish. The owner advises that the hull has not required osmosis treatment. Antifouled in 2026.
