Introducing Midnight Mood, a 1980 Moody 36. The Moody 36 is a highly respected, heavily built centre-cockpit cruising yacht.

It is widely celebrated as a robust, safe, and commodious "blue water" family cruiser capable of serious offshore passages. The boat was last surveyed in 2022 when the vessel last changed hands, and all recommendations carried out.

Viewing by appointment only through the Suffolk office - 01473 659681 or email: suffolk@clarkeandcarter.co.uk

Accommodation

Midnight Mood accommodates 7 berths across 3 cabins - a V-berth at the bow, a convertible main saloon, and a very generous master aft cabin. The V-berth features opening deck hatch, two storage lockers and single deck level portlights to each side. Moving aft, the V-berth is separated from the main saloon by a heads with wash basin. Similar deck level portlights provide good lighting in this area. There is generous headroom in the saloon, with storage compartments under the seating, and ample storage compartments and cuddies around the saloon seating. Large deck level portlights flood good lighting into the saloon, along with an opening deck hatch on the starboard side. Seating in the saloon converts to berths. To the aft starboard side of the saloon is the galley, again with plentiful storage, 2 burner gas hob and oven (Aqua Marine Neptune 4500), plus fridge. To the port side is an adequate chart table, with recently (2024) improved B&G electronics. A proper interior walkthrough corridor on the port side of the engine bay takes you to the generous aft cabin with dedicated heads. The aft cabin features the similar deck level portlights on both sides giving plenty of light, along with an opening deck hatch. Storage compartments surround the fixed double bed.

Mechanical Systems

Located under and behind the companionway is the engine bay - housing a Thorneycroft T90 35hp engine. This is an original engine, with shaft drive and fixed 3 blade propellor. Midnight Mood cruises around 6 knots, max speed of 7 knots. There is a bow thruster fitted, and a single steering wheel in the centre of the cockpit.
