The Super Seal 26 is a modern-styled lifting keel fast cruiser, designed by Ron Holland, at the time one of the most successful small racing yacht designers. With a deep, high-aspect ratio drop keel, and an efficient 7/8 fractional sloop rig, she offers excellent sailing performance plus the ability to use drying moorings, and well-fitted, comfortable accommodation for up to five. ?Gelert? has been in her current ownership since 2023 and has been used for club racing and East Coast cruising.

Accommodation

Three berths in two cabins. V-berth forward with infill to make a double. Heads compartment to starboard of keel box with Brydon marine toilet and wash basin. Hanging locker opposite. Saloon with settees port and starboard. Saloon table to starboard. Galley aft to port with stainless galley sink and Plastimo Neptune 2500 two burner gas stove with grill. Foot pumped freshwater supply to galley sink and heads basin. Quarter berth aft to starboard.

Mechanical Systems

Bukh DV10, single cylinder, 10hp marine diesel engine located aft of companionway steps. Raw water cooled. Shaft drive via P-bracket. Single lever Morse control. 20 litre fuel tank. Oil and filters changed 2026.

Electrical Systems

2 x 12v batteries charging from engine alternator. Interior lighting.

Sails and Spars

Fractionally rigged sloop. Aluminium, deck stepped, single spreader mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging (age unknown). Adjustable backstay. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with lazy jacks.     Parker Super Seal 26, built by Parker Boats in 1985. Hull number 118. White GRP hull and decks with painted non-slip surfaces. Cast iron lifting keel raised and lowered by a winch on the coachroof. The lifting keel is a steel plate with GRP mouldings at the sides providing an aerofoil shape. The keel itself is relatively light with most of the ballast inside the hull under the cabin sole. Transom hung lifting rudder. Simulated teak finish to cockpit seats and floor. Aft self-draining cockpit.
