The Moody S31 is regarded as a well-built cruiser offering a good performance and spacious accommodation for its size. Seahaven has had regular inventory updates since 2012 including an electric windlass (2018) and cockpit enclosure (2020). She is also fitted with a fridge (2020) and pressurised hot and cold water system. A superb east coast cruiser!

Accommodation

There is space for 6 berths within the fore cabin, saloon and aft cabin. Upfront there is a double V-berth with an infill and an opening hatch to foredeck. Moving aft into the saloon, to centre there is a folding table with storage and two single bunks to port and starboard. Further back to starboard, there is a separate heads compartment with sea toilet, wash basin and shower. Opposite to port is the L-shaped galley with a two burner, gas cooker, oven and grill (new burner unit 2022) and sink. Behind the galley is the aft cabin with double bunk that takes up the full beam and has its own hatchway to the cockpit. The boat is equipped with an approximately 180L water tank with hot and cold pressurised water. Multicoloured upholstery and blue curtains. Eberspacher cabin heater.

Mechanical Systems

The boat is fitted with a Volvo Penta MD2020 accessed from under the companion way and aft cabin. 19 HP, twin cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. Fresh water cooled via a heat exchanger. Sail drive with 2-bladed folding prop and has an approximately 90 litre fuel tank. The engine was last serviced August 2025. The following work has also taken place:

Slab reefed mainsail system with stack pack & lazy jacks and furling headsail system. All four winches are Lewmar (2 halyard 16ST and 2 sheet winches 30ST) Furlex 200 furler (2012). All lines lead aft to cockpit except main outhaul. Bowsprit. Selden rod kicker.

    Built by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd in 1997 to a Bill Dixon design. White GRP hull with style stripe. White GRP deck with a moulded non-slip finish. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to a skeg hung rudder. Last out of the water in April 2024 when the hull was polished and antifouled.
