The Hallberg-Rassy 36 MkII is one of the most highly regarded cruising yachts produced by the renowned Swedish yard. Designed by Germán Frers, she combines excellent sailing performance, comfortable accommodation and the exceptional build quality for which Hallberg-Rassy yachts are known worldwide. Built in 1998, Ocean Reiver has an interesting history, having been collected new from the Hallberg-Rassy yard in Sweden by her first owner, merchant marine deck officer Chris Turnbull, accompanied by the renowned sailor and polar explorer David Scott Cowper. More recently she has benefited from careful ownership and a steady programme of maintenance and upgrading including a new AutoProp fitted in 2025, replacement bow thruster, replacement of the forestay and servicing of the furling system in 2026, replacement seacocks, renewal of the water pump and cutlass bearing, extensive steering system maintenance and the application of a Coppercoat antifouling system. She is offered with a comprehensive cruising inventory and is equally suited to coastal cruising or extended offshore passages.
