The J-80 is a planing race boat with a great reputation for adrenaline racing. Sparrowhawk was built in 1999 and is equipped with a fantastic road trailer for moving her to events nationally. The J/80 is the perfect combination of family dayboat and one-design raceboat. Thanks to its simplicity, its strength and its performance record, this 8m trail-able keelboat has become a worldwide reference

She has a basic interior which is very functional. Two/four berths in sitting headroom. PVC upholstery. Stowage under berths and in fabric bins. Teak and holly floor. Opening forehatch.

No engine, but provision to mount a long shaft outboard motor on the transom.

Fractional Bermudan sloop rig. Keel stepped silver anodised mast and boom by Sparcraft. Stainless steel standing rigging (age unknown). Spectra running rigging (some new 2025).
