The Bavaria 30 Cruiser is one of Bavaria's most successful cruising yachts, combining comfortable accommodation, rewarding sailing performance and easy short-handed handling. Blue Danube is an exceptional example and quite possibly one of the best-presented Bavaria 30 Cruisers currently available. Maintained to an extremely high standard by her current owner, she is presented in truly immaculate condition throughout. Her most significant recent upgrade is undoubtedly the installation of a brand-new Volvo Penta D1-20 engine in 2026, which has completed only around 70 hours since fitting. Accommodation

Providing up to six berths across two cabins plus the saloon. The forward cabin features a double berth with storage below, hanging storage to port and additional storage to starboard. Moving aft the saloon has settee berths to port and starboard with a central dining table. Storage behand both seat backs. The L-galley, situated to port, is equipped with a cooker with oven and grill, top-opening refrigerator, stainless steel sink and ample storage for cruising provisions. Opposite the galley to starboard is a forward-facing chart table. The separate heads compartment to starboard is fitted with a marine toilet, washbasin and shower. Pressurised hot and cold water is supplied from a 150-litre freshwater tank via a calorifier heated by the engine and shore power immersion heater. The holding tank capacity is approximately 60 litres. Aft to port is the aft cabin, again with double berth and storage. Once up in the cockpit – you find a very generous lazarette to starboard providing plenty of storage for fenders/covers and other paraphernalia.

Mechanical Systems

Located beneath the companionway steps is the Volvo Penta D1-20 diesel engine, new in 2026, developing 20hp and driving a saildrive unit with two-bladed fixed propeller. Indirect cooling. Approximately 70 engine hours recorded. Immaculately clean and insulated engine bay. Saildrive diaphragm replaced in 2023. Single plastic fuel tank with a capacity of approximately 90 litres.

Construction

Built in 2006 by Bavaria Yachts. Designed by J&J Design. White GRP hull with moulded non-slip GRP decks and superstructure. Cast iron tandem keel. Spade rudder. Wheel steering. The tandem keel design creates a hydrodynamic "slot" between the two foils. At speeds above 3.5 knots, it is designed to generate efficient lift, meaning it points upwind surprisingly well for a shallow draft boat. Anodes replaced 2026. Antifouled in 2026 with Hempel Tiger Xtra.
