The Sadler 290, designed by Stephen Jones, successfully combines impressive performance with a remarkable amount of space for a yacht of her size, a balance that is rarely achieved. "Foreness" has cruised East and South coasts and sailed around Britain single-handed in 2024. She has twin bilge keels so is a particularly appealing choice for East Coast cruising and beyond.

Accommodation

The accommodation provides up to six berths across two cabins and the saloon. Forward, the cabin features a V-berth double bed with an opening hatch to the foredeck, providing plenty of natural light and ventilation.

To port is a separate heads compartment fitted with a Jabsco manual marine toilet connected to a 60-litre holding tank. A stainless steel wash basin incorporates a pull-out shower, supplied with pressurised hot and cold water from a 120-litre freshwater tank, heated via engine calorifier. Opposite the heads compartment to starboard is a large hanging locker, offering practical storage for extended cruising.

Stepping aft into the saloon, to port is a comfortable L-shaped settee finished in teal upholstery, centred around a practical drop-leaf dining table. Opposite, to starboard, is a single settee berth with a aft-facing chart table, providing a dedicated navigation area while retaining ample seating and living space.

The L-shaped galley is located to port and is well equipped for extended cruising, featuring twin stainless steel sinks supplied with pressurised hot and cold fresh water, a Plastimo Neptune 2500 two-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, a large top-opening 12v refrigerator, and useful side stowage lockers.

In the starboard quarter is the aft cabin with a vast double berth. Cabin heating is provided by a 240v fan heater. A Mikuni diesel fired heater is fitted but it requires a new heater unit.

Mechanical Systems

Located behind the companionway steps is the 2007 Yanmar 3MY20, three cylinder, 20hp marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via a heat exchanger. Power is transmitted via a saildrive leg (diaphragm replaced 2022) to a two-blade folding propeller. 60 litre plastic fuel tank. Engine professionally serviced annually every winter during her current ownership. Engine hours not recorded.

Electrical Systems

2 x 12v domestic batteries and single 12v engine start battery (all batteries new 2023). Alternator charging. 240v shore power with battery charger and ring main. Shore power cable and extension lead. Inverter.
