Description

The Trusty T23 is a true small ship. She has excellent accommodation for her size and her hull design and keels means she is perfectly capable should you find yourself in big seas. Puffin is a well cared for example, she has been maintained to the highest of standards, winters in heated storage and benefits from a custom built trailer that allows for much more versatile usage. She seems an easy boat to move around with ample safety rails, grab handles and wide side decks.

Accommodation

The well thought out design of the living space manages to pack in the kind of accommodation youd expect to find on a much larger vessel. Forward is a spacious and airy double cabin with port holes and a hatch for ventilation. Moving aft is the heads, equipped with a manual sea toilet, wash basin and shower mixer with hot and cold pressurised water. Further aft you will find the helm position. There is bench seating for both a helm and navigator. All of the controls feel in a natural position, you have good sight of the nav kit and gauges. She would be a very comfortable boat to operate. Opposite the helm is the dinette, this has ample seating for four adults and converts into a small double berth if need be. The galley runs parallel to the dinette and is equipped with a stainless steel sink, fridge, microwave and a two burner hob. The helm seat also folds forwards to provide a handy food preparation surface. All of the internal spaces can be protected by the curtains and blinds on board. Not only will this keep the interior in good condition but should you stay aboard it allows for privacy inside whilst still providing good ventilation. Diesel heating will keep you warm in the winter with outlets throughout the cabin space and the enclosed cockpit.

Mechanical Systems

Under the cockpit floor, in an insulated engine room, is a single Yanmar 4JH5E diesel engine. Indirectly cooled via heat exchanger. Non factory upgrades include a system to prevent the engine being started without the inlet open. Single lever controls. Shaft driven four bladed propeller. There is a Side Power bow thruster fitted making slow speed manoeuvring much easier.
