Built in 2014, this beautifully crafted Nottage Dinghy combines the timeless appeal of a traditional sailing dinghy with the advantages of more modern construction. The design is the well known Nottage Dinghy developed and built through the Nottage Institute in Wivenhoe, Essex, where traditional boatbuilding skills continue to be taught and preserved. Featuring elegant clinker construction, classic lines and excellent sailing characteristics, she offers all the charm of a heritage craft without being an original period boat. Well maintained and attractively presented, she is ideal for leisurely sailing or participating in classic and traditional boat gatherings. A delightful and characterful dinghy that is ready for her next owner to enjoy on the water.

Cockpit
As an open sailing dinghy, the Nottage offers a simple and practical cockpit in keeping with her traditional design. The open cockpit provides comfortable seating for crew and room for day sailing, training, or family outings on the water. Storage space is available beneath the side benches and forward and stern sections for essential equipment, sails, and personal belongings.
Sails and Spars
Traditional standing lug rig set on a varnished mast, boom and yard, combining classic styling with straightforward and efficient sail handling. The rig is fitted with a brown Terylene mainsail by Lonton and Gray. The sail incorporates a single reefing point. The unstayed mast is stepped through the forward thwart, which is fitted with substantial oversized supporting knees to provide additional strength and rigidity. Running rigging is led through varnished oak blocks and the mainsheet is secured to the aft end of the centreboard case.

Construction
Built in 2014 using traditional boatbuilding methods, the Nottage Dinghy features a clinker-built larch hull supported by oak and ash frames, creating a strong, lightweight, and durable structure. The hull's lapstrake construction provides excellent rigidity, while the varnished timber thwarts and trim highlight the quality of the craftsmanship throughout. Combining proven materials with classic design, she offers the appearance and character of a traditional wooden sailing dinghy with the benefit of more recent construction.
