This customer built gaff cutter is based along the lines of a boat designed by Reg Freeman in 1934 with the lovely addition of a counter stern. "Sarah" was built by Benfleet Boat Co in 1987 and has a cold moulded hull which gives her a beautiful compromise of the delight of a classic wooden yacht but the benefits & easy maintenance of a modern GRP yacht.

Offering up to 4 berths in a simple interior. Up forward there are two single berths which are suitable for a child. In the saloon there are two full sized berths to port and starboard. Stainless steel galley sink to starboard with a manually pumped water supply. Opposite there is storage. Single burner spirit hob. Manual sea toilet.
Mechanical SystemsThere is the capacity to house up to a 8hp outboard engine in the outboard well, situated aft of the cockpit.
Electrical SystemsGaff rigging cutter. Deck stepped mast in a tabernacle. Stainless steel standing rigging. Mast and bowsprit made in Oregan Pine. Gaff and boom made in spruce. Terylene running rigging. Wykeham Martin head sail furling systems.
Built by Benfleet Boats co in 1987/91 based on a 1934 Reg Freeman designed boat built by Johnson and Jago in 1934 but with the addition of a counter stern. Cold moulded hull, with four layers of mahogany & epoxy glue. Sheathed marine plywood decks. Long tradition keel with a lead ballast. Silicon bronze bolts. Lead & iron internal ballast. Keel hung rudder.
